Bravo to the cellists in the Serenade. A first to hear such a strong, animated, and especially musical line.

Good riddance to Christopher Beach. The festival desperately needs a new vision.

Given the vacuous generality of Seacliff’s trite insults, and the absence of supporting fact — let alone cogent reasoning from fact — the sole aim of the comment appears to be attention-getting. I’ll grant that craven desire, only to take this opportunity to thank Mr Beach for a decade of service that has produced several exemplary music series, each of which manage to stand out in a region rich with alternatives.

Seacliff is of course correct that there is room for improvement, but when is that empty point ever not correct? Beach has set a course for LJMS that can be beneficially extrapolated for years to come, and set standards that any arts organization would strive to meet. He’s moving-on while at the top of the game, and best wishes to him. Rather than carp, pray, that he leaves us with a successor just as good!

FYI: Mr. Beach is not the artistic director of Summerfest.
