San Diego Opera’s General Director David Bennett just announced Mozart’s “The Marriage of Figaro,” Verdi’s “Rigoletto,” and Bizet’s “Carmen” as the 2018-2019 traditional main stage productions at Civic Theatre. Additional productions next season include Jake Heggie’s “Three Decembers” and Humperdinck’s “Hansel and Gretel.”
The chamber ensemble Camarada’s highly charged “Te Amo Tango” program at the Mingei International Museum on Sunday, February 18, continued San Diego’s infatuation with tango, recently inspired by San Diego Opera’s sexy production of Astor Piazzolla’s tango opera “Maria de Buenos Aires.”
